GROUNDWORK
AMOK! KIDS! Groundwork encompasses throws, take downs, control positions, locks and submissions.
This forms the basis for the KIDS! to feel comfortable training with, and competing against
practitioners of various grappling and throwing arts such as Judo, Brazilian Ju-Jitsu and
Wrestling.
The KIDS! grappling program provides an environment for participants to grapple hard with
minimal risk of injury by applying the “fight hard tap easy,” principal.
Groundwork develops elements such as core body strength, breathing, endurance, technical skill and balance.

Understanding control positions helps lay the foundation
for the grappling game. KIDS! learn to secure and make smooth
transitions between the various control positions |

|
|
| Knowing how to
fall correctly ensures safer training when falling, being thrown
or taken to the ground |

Locks and submissions are
applied with the "fight hard, tap easy" principal. This makes
grappling challenging, fun and safe |
 |
| |
|
|
| Throws
and take downs require positioning and breaking your training
partner's balance. Once an effective throw is achieved,
KIDS! secure a control position from which a lock or submission
can be applied |
